The following further clarification/Addendum is issued:

i) OH candidates with handicap in hands rendering them incapable of operating computer are exempted from appearing in DEST for the post of Tax Assistant in CBDT only. OH candidates for the post of Tax Assistant in CBEC are not exempted from DEST.

ii) Para 9 (B) NOTE-II (i) under the Heading SYLLABUS FOR TIER-II OF THE EXAMINATION: the following is added after the sentence …… Only those candidates who qualify in all the papers as well as in the aggregate would be eligible to be considered for being called for interview and/or Skill Test:-

The Commission also has the discretion to fix minimum qualifying marks in interview for each category of candidates as mentioned above.

Other contents of the Notice will remain unchanged.

Office of the Deputy Director of Agriculture and ATMA, Nadia is recruiting local candidates of Nadia for the contractual posts of Volunteers for a centrally sponsored project “Disease and Pestilence Warning System”. For successful implementation of the scheme 2 Nos. (in each block) “Pest and Disease Scout” are required purely on contractual basis for a period of 6 months which may extended further upon requirement and performance of the candidates.
Application Criteria:— Applicant should be a local candidates of the block (List of blocks given below) having agricultural background as well as capable of riding bi-cycle extensively within project site and should have own mobile phone.
Qualification Required: Higher Secondary pass with Biology/ Vocational Agriculture.
 Basic knowledge in computer application and Internet operation is desirable.
 Candidates must have sound health.
Age limits: Applicant must be within 18yrs to 25yrs as on 01/01/2013.
Nature of Duties—
 Service of the volunteers will be utilized under the supervision and control of the PIA (BCKV). They will carry out consistent surveillance over the pest and diseases to be surveyed on selected crops.
Honorarium: Rs.5000/- pm (Consolidated)
The engagement is purely on contractual basis for a period of Six months subject to periodic evaluation of performance by the PIA and pro-terminus with project period.

• Number of Positions: 22
• Place of Work: Any of the Regional Centres/Offices of BSI at Itanagar, Shillong, Gangtok, Howrah, Kolkata, Allahabad, Noida, Dehradun, Jodhpur, Pune, Hyderabad, Port Blair and Coimbatore. Appointed Junior Research Fellows may be shifted from his/her initial working place to another place of work, if necessary.
• Fellowship Amount: The appointed JRFs will be paid a fixed fellowship of Rs. 12,000/- per month (likely to be increased) plus admissible House Rent Allowance as per their place of working in the offices of BSI mentioned above. They will also be entitled to get an annual contingency grant of Rs. 15,000/- and admissible Medical Benefits as per extant rules of BSI. The JRFs will not be entitled to any other benefits during and after expiry of their fellowship tenure. Junior Research Fellowship in BSI is purely temporary. Mere appointment as Junior Research Fellow doesn’t confer any right, implicit or explicit, for consideration for regularization or absorption in BSI as an employee.
• Duration of Fellowship: The Junior Research Fellows will be appointed initially for 2 years and, if found suitable,
may be appointed for another 3 years as Senior Research Fellows.
• Essential Qualification: At the time of submitting the application the applicant should essentially possess a minimum 2nd class Masters degree in Botany awarded by a UGC recognized university.
• Desirable Qualification: NET or GATE qualified or M. Phil degree in Taxonomy or Plant-systematics of any group of plants with working knowledge in computer.
• Age Limit: The upper age limit for general male candidate and general female candidate is 25 years and 30 years respectively on the closing date for receipt of applications (Relaxable by 5 years for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Physically Handicapped candidates and by 3 years for Other Backward Class candidates). Applications made strictly as per format given below with attested photocopies of marksheets, birth certificate, residential certificate, SC/ST/OBC/PH certificate, latest passport sized coloured photograph (pasted on application form) and account payee demand draft (DD) of Rs. 400/- (Rs. 200/- for OBC applicants, Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PH applicants) drawn in favour of ‘Accounts Officer, PAO (BSI/ZSI), Kolkata’ should reach Director, BSI in a sealed envelope by speed post at above mentioned address within 30 days [45 days for applicants residing in North Eastern States, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Ladakh Division of Jammu & Kashmir and Chamba (Pangi Sub Division) and Lahul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh] from the date of publication in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar.
