A. PRINCIPAL – THREE [ONE EACH RESERVED
FOR S.C., O.B.C. – CATEGORY ‘A’ CANDIDATES AND
PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
(SUFFERING FROM BLINDNESS

PAY : Rs.16, 400/- – Rs.22, 400/- (Unrevised).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential: B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in relevant branch with 1st class or equivalent either in
B.E./B.Tech. or M.E./M.Tech. and Ph.D. or equivalent in appropriate disciplines.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in teaching/research/industry out of which at least 3 years shall be at the
level of Professor.
OR
Minimum of 13 years experience in teaching and / or
research and / or
industry.
OR
In case of Architecture, professional practice of 10 years as certified
by
Council of Architecture shall also
be considered
valid.
AGE: Not more than 50
years as on 01.01.2013.

QUALIFICATIONS [For the post of Professor in Training. & Placement at sl. no. 1(B) (i) only]:
B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in relevant branch with 1st class or equivalent either in B.E./B.Tech. or
M.E./M.Tech. and Ph.D. or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in teaching/research/industry out of which at least 5 years shall
be at the level of Associate Professor
OR
Minimum of 13 years experience in teaching and / or research and / or industry.
QUALIFICATIONS [For the post of Professor at sl. no. 1(B) (ii) to 1(B) (xii)]:
Essential:
(a) For Engineering and Technology: B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in relevant branch with 1st class or
equivalent either in B.E./B.Tech. or M.E./M.Tech. and Ph.D. or equivalent in appropriate discipline.
(b) For M.C.A.: B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in relevant branch with 1st class or equivalent either in
B.E./B.Tech. or M.E./M.Tech.
OR
B.E./B.Tech. and M.C.A. with 1st class or equivalent in either B.E./B.Tech. or M.C.A.
OR
M.C.A. with 1st class or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience.
AND
Ph.D. or equivalent in appropriate discipline.

(b) For M.C.A.: B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in relevant branch with 1st class or equivalent either in
B.E./B.Tech. or M.E./M.Tech. OR B.E./B.Tech. and M.C.A. with 1st class or equivalent either in
B.E./B.Tech. or M.C.A. OR M.C.A. with 1st class or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience and Ph.D.
or equivalent in appropriate discipline.
Experience for the post of Associate Professor for Engineering & Technology and for M.C.A:
Minimum 5 years of experience in teaching/research/industry of which 2 years post Ph.D. experience is desirable.

In case of Architecture, professional practice of 5 years as certified by Council of Architecture shall also be

2. POSTS UNDER THE SCHOOL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT, GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL.
A. HEAD MISTRESS, DOW HILL GIRLS’ SCHOOL, KURSEONG IN WEST BENGAL SENIOR
EDUCATIONAL SERVICE (WOMEN’S BRANCH) – ONE (MEN UNSUITABLE).
PAY : Rs.15, 600/- – Rs.42, 000/- (P.B. 4A) plus Grade Pay Rs. 6, 600/-.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
(i) Second class Master’s Degree with Honours Degree of an Indian University or equivalent qualifications,
(ii) Five years’ teaching experience in a responsible post, preferably as the Head of a well-established modern residential Girls’ secondary school,
(iii) Proved capacity for development of corporate life and maintaining discipline in a secondary school &
(iv) Ability to teach in English medium.
Desirable:
(i) B.T. and/or B.Ed. Degree of an Indian University,
(ii) Practical training in educational administration,
(iii) Knowledge of latest development of secondary education in India and abroad,
(iv) Knowledge of Bengali – spoken and written &
(v) Knowledge of Nepali – spoken and written
AGE: Below 45 years as on 01.01.2013. Age is relaxable for otherwise well-qualified candidates and for
persons holding substantive appointment in the teaching branch of the Education Department, West Bengal.

Rs.15, 600/- – Rs.42, 000/- (P.B. 4A) plus Grade Pay Rs. 5, 400/-.
QUALIFICATIONS [For the posts at sl. nos. 2(B), 2(C) & 2(D)]:
Essential:
(i) Second class Master’s Degree or Honours Degree in Science subjects for the post at sl. no. 2(B),
Geography for the post at sl. no. 2(C) and Physics for the post at sl. no. 2(D) of an Indian University or
equivalent,
(ii) Degree in teaching or Education or equivalent (a candidate not possessing this qualification may apply but
if selected shall have to acquire such qualifications within three years of joining the post and will draw on an
ad-hoc basis the initial of the time-scale of pay till he/she qualifies himself/herself in this regard),
(iii) Teaching experience in English medium in secondary schools, preferably residential ones, relaxable for
otherwise well-qualified candidates &
(iv) Ability to teach in English medium.
