Age:- A candidate for this examination must have attained the age of 21 years
and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st January, 2014 i.e.,
he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1984 and not later
than 1st January, 1993.
The upper age-limit of 30 years will be relaxable upto 35 years in the
case of Government servants of the following categories, if they are employed
in a Department/ Office under the control of any of the authorities mentioned
in column 1 below and apply for admission to the examination for all or any of
the Service(s)/Post(s) mentioned in column 2, for which they are otherwise
eligible.
Qualification:- (a) Obtained a Degree in Engineering from a University
incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other
Educational Institutes established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be
deemed as University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act,
1956; or
(b) Passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the
Institution of Engineers (India); or
(c) Obtained a Degree/Diploma in Engineering, from such foreign University/College/
Institution and under such conditions as may be recognised by the Government
for the purpose from time to time; or
(d) Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or
(e) Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A
and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or
(f) Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of
Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959.
How to Apply:- Candidates must apply Online by using the website
http://www.upsc.gov.in. The Online Detailed Application Form can be filled from
05-12-2014 to 15-12-2014 till 11.59 PM after which the link will be disabled.
Candidates should ensure that all columns of the Online Detailed
Application Form are filled in correctly. No correspondence will be entertained
by the Commission from candidates to change any of the entries made in the
Detailed Application Form.
Last Date For Receipt of Printed Copy of
Online Detailed Application
Candidates are required to take the print out of the Finally Submitted
online Detailed Application Form and sign on each page and submit it to the
Commission along with certificates duly attested and Summary Sheet. The last
date for receiving printed copy of online Detailed Application along with
enclosures/certificates and Summary Sheet is 22-12-2014. The
envelope containing the printed copy of the Online Detailed Application Form
should be superscribed with “Detailed Application for Engineering Services
Examination, 2014” and must reach the Under Secretary (E.VII), Union Public
Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi – 110069 on or
before the date specified above.
Detailed Application Form can also be delivered at Union Public Service
Commission counter by hand on or before the date specified above. The
Commission will not be responsible for the applications delivered to any other
functionary of the Commission.
Guidelines for filling the online Detailed Application Form (DAF) for
Engineering Services Examination, 2014
Please log on to the website www.upsc.gov.in and click on the link
“Detailed Application Form for Engineering Services Examination, 2014”.
Candidate who wish to apply for Engineering Services Examination, 2014
have to first get themselves registered before filling up the Online Detailed
Application Form(DAF) at the website www.upsc.gov.in
Please register yourself by clicking appropriately on the link provided
below the “login” button. On the registration module, provide your Name
(as recorded in the matriculation/secondary examination certificate), Roll
Number (in six digit format) and Date of Birth (as recorded in the
matriculation/secondary examination certificate).
Provide your e-mail address and re-enter your e-mail address.
Enter the random number which is appearing on the screen and click the
submit button.
(a) All the field are compulsory to fill in.
(b) Please ensure that you provide a valid and an active e-mail address
in the e-mail address field as your password for filling up the application
form shall be e-mailed to you on the e-mail address provided by you. Invalid or
inactive e-mail address may prevent you from smooth completion of submission of
online Detailed Application Form.
After clicking the submission button, you will get a message on your
screen, clearly mentioning your Name and e-mail that you have been registered
and your password has been sent to your e-mail address. Please note down your
password.
Now log in to your e-mail account and note down your password which has
been sent to you by the Commission and again go back to the website (www.upsc.gov.in)
and log in into the Login module with your Roll Number (six digit number) along
with the password.
Online DAF has seven modules as indicated above, namely- Personal,
Educational Information, Parental Information, Employment Information, service
references and Final Submission.
Candidates are required to fill all the modules completely before
finally submitting the form ONLINE, using the Final Submission Module.
Candidates should save each module after completing the same. However,
candidates will have the option to make changes in any module before final
submission of DAF. Once Final Submission has been made, then no change will be
possible Online.
Candidates are required to take the print out of the Finally Submitted
online Detailed Application Form and sign on each page and submit it to the
Commission along with certificates duly attested. This application along with
documents/enclosures should be submitted to the commission positively by
22-12-2014.
Candidates are not supposed to print the PREVIEW OF APPLICATION.
In case the candidates submit print copy of PREVIEW OF APPLICATION,
his candidature is liable to be rejected.
