SUB INSPECTOR (GD) IN
BSF
THROUGH LIMITED DEPARTMENTAL COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION – 2014
Applications are invited from serving
BSF Male and Female Constables, Head Constables (GD) and Tradesmen who meet QRs for selection
to the post of Sub Inspector
(GD) in the Border
Security Force through
LIMITED DEPARTMENTAL COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION (LDCE)
in the Pay scale as mentioned below. The post of Sub Inspector
(GD) is Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial
(Combatised). The posts are temporary but likely to become permanent.

PAY SCALE:-
Rs.9,300-34,800 with Grade Pay Rs.4200 in Pay Band-2
and other
allowances as
admissible from time to time.
2.
Eligibility conditions :-
Constables/GD, Head Constables/GD and ASI(Exe)
will be eligible to appear
in the said LDCE. Tradesmen, who meet QRs to appear in SI/LDCE, are also eligible
to appear in SI/LDCE.

The upper age limit for appearing in
the LDCE will be 32 years. The
required education qualification will be graduation, which
is also the eligibility for DR SIs(as

They should have maintained good
ACRs of last four years
and should have unblemished service records(Candidates should have not been punished U/s.48 and 53 of BSF Act & Rules and should not have been issued with
DG’s Displeasure in last four
years) till the issue of offer of appointment.

Note : (i) There shall

2.
Number of chances admissible :
In all, three chances
will be given for appearing
in the LDCE.
3.
Age Relaxation : Relaxation of 5 years in age limit to the candidates belonging to SC/ST is permissible in accordance with the instructions issued
by the Govt. of
India
from time
to time. The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing
date of submission of applications.
4.
Scheme of Examination
Examination will consist written and physical test as per the standard laid down by the Staff Selection Commission, as under
:-
Stage-I : Checking of service records : No marks are allotted for stage-I.
However, it should be ensured that candidates maintain
Good ACRs and unblemished service record.
Stage-II : Written Examination(OMR) based : There should be one question
paper of objective type multiple choice questions
consisting of 200 marks with 3½ hours duration to assess
candidates in the following subjects on OMR system
:-
1. General Intelligence and reasoning - 50 Marks
2.
General Awareness and professional
knowledge - 50 Marks
3.
Numerical ability - 50 Marks
4.
Comprehension and communication skill - 50 Marks
Total = 200 Marks
“For qualification/selection, a candidate shall secure atleast 45% marks in each part & 50% in aggregate. Relaxation of 5% marks will be given
to the candidates belonging to SC/ST categories”.
Stage-III : Physical Measurements
: As applicable
to
SI direct
entry candidates. The
minimum physical requirements for the candidates are mentioned at Para.2(d). No relaxation will be given in case a candidate
has been appointed in lower rank with relaxed
standard; such candidate will not
be eligible to appear in the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination.
Note :- Those candidates, who are not satisfied with the result of their measurements taken by the Board especially in case of height and chest,
can prefer an appeal to the Appellate Authority of the Board on the same day and venue of the PST/PET itself,
if they so desire. Hence, the concerned
RAs will detail an Appellate Authority
who is senior than the Chairman of PST/PET Board to dispose of the appeals of the candidates on the last day of PST/PET.
In such cases, the Appellate
Authority of the board will again measure the physical
standards of such candidates on the last day and the outcome
of the measurement communicated to the candidate
which shall be final and no further appeal or representation shall be entertained. Representation
submitted at a later date shall
not be entertained.

shall not carry any marks.
The tests will be qualifying/elimination tests. Failure in one of the events will amount
to disqualification and will not be allowed to undergo
further events.
Stage-V : Medical Examination : Detailed
medical examination of those candidates who come out successful in the written & PET will be conducted, as per existing
guidelines of the provision. Each candidate will be declared either fit or unfit, and no one will be categorized “temporarily unfit”.
Note:- Medical Officer will not be responsible for measurements of Height
and Chest as commonly
practiced. However, in case of suspicion, Medical Officer can always
verify the measurements and discrepancy, if any, should be brought to the knowledge of the Chairman
of PST/PET board for
necessary action.

8.
Guide lines
for filling up the application form:-
a)
The format of application
is attached.
b)
The application of each individual duly filled in and supported
with all required
copies of certificates
should reach the concerned centre through proper channel.
c)
Applications received after due
date will not be entertained
under any circumstances.
d)
Covers containing the application must be super scribed
in bold letters “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF SUB INSPECTOR (GD) THROUGH LIMITED DEPARTMENTAL COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION-2014” and Centre of examination with
Centre code.
e)
Candidates should apply through the concerned
units/HQrs
in
which
they
are
posted
alongwith all
required certificates as
mentioned below :
(i)
Application form and Admission card duly
filled in or duly typed
on a
full-scape paper.
(ii)
Two passport size photographs in uniform
are required. One each to be pasted on application
form and admission card
duly attested by a Gazetted
Officer.
(iii) Attested copies of certificates/testimonials as proof of education
qualification and date of birth i.e. matriculation, 10+2 and Graduation degree or provisional degree certificate with year wise all
mark sheets.
(iv) SC/ST candidates should
furnish attested copy of caste certificate in prescribed format issued by Revenue
Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar. Otherwise, their claim for SC/ST
status will not be entertained and their candidature/applications will be considered under
General(UR) category.
(v)
Copy of certificate in support of claim
for relaxation in physical standards, if any.
(vi) An undertaking from candidate that he is willing to resign from
present post in case he is selected
for applied post as
per proforma
attached.
(vii)
Service Certificate, as per proforma attached, to be signed by Head of Office/Appointing Authority.
(viii)
Application in respect of following candidates will
not be forwarded who have:
a)
Not completed
4 years of continuous service as Ct(GD), HC(GD) and Tradesmen who meet
QRs
including basic training as on the last date
of receipt
of application.
b)
Not having clean record of service.
c) Low medical
category.
d)
Less in education.
e)
Already availed
three chances in this examination.
f)
A candidate
has been appointed in lower rank with relaxed standard.
Note :- Head of Office before signing the service certificate will ensure that no application of ineligible
candidate is forwarded.
